All the videos that you watch on your favourite platforms are stored and distributed using very expensive centralized servers, messing up and increasing the price of the content. In current models the options are paying for a subscription to watch a lot of media you may not be interested in, to spend a ridiculous amount of money on the videos that you really love, or to watch advertisement in exchange for content, which leaves producers with almost no return on their investment.
On Flixxo all users share any content they have on their device with the rest of the community. So, instead of an expensive centralized server, the information is distributed and shared through the network using Bittorrent protocol. Have you ever used Popcorn Time? This works in the same way.
Free from structural costs, producers can share the earnings from their content with the network that supports them. This way you get paid for helping us improve Flixxo, and you earn credits (in the form of digital tokens called Flixx) for watching higher quality content. Having no intermediaries means that the price you pay for watching the content that you actually want to watch is lower and fairer!
How does Flixx work?
c0sm0s is a super awesome youtuber that does not make money on YouTube and who wants to bring its content to Flixxo. He makes his videos available to the network by setting a Distribution Intelligence Contract where he has set the price for his content (10 flixx) and the prize for the network (50% of his earnings) He has also provided a 500 flixx guarantee for 30 days (each author needs to provide warranty on its content by blocking some tokens on time)
Now Lila knows that her favorite person has uploaded a new original content in Flixxo and she wants to let you know. He downloaded the Flixxo app on his phone and searched for a new video. He needs 10 flixx to watch it, but he does not have enough tokens. So he decides to watch a Coca-Cola ad to receive 10 flixx, which he uses for video c0sm0s. After watching it, Lila stores the contents on her phone and becomes a seed carrier or distributor.
Many other users tried Flixxo and searched for c0sm0s content. Each time one of them takes a piece of the video from Lila’s phone, p0sm0s rewards his contribution with some of his Flixx. Lila gets tokens to watch more content, as do many other fans who also decide to share.
Coca-Cola advertisers run out of tokens to display their sponsored content. So they reached out which at this stage has earned a lot of Flixx and is eager to turn it into some Bitcoin.
Flixxo as an option to dole out as well as monetize their content. This new revenue base will enable smarter audio-visual markets because new artists and producers will be able to produce great content while issuing it through their rules.
